These Pictures of The Rio Olympic Venues Will Leave You Depressed

After the Summer Olympics in Rio ended six months ago, these Olympic venues were left to rot and look eerie. It needs a major cleanup.

People were excited about the Rio Summer Olympics last year. While it may have had water issues, it’s safe to say that the prestigious event held in Brazil was a success. New Olympic medalists were hailed and the world rejoiced in moments when people from all over the world were connected because of the games.

But what happened to the Olympic Village after the games?

Just like any venue where major events like the Olympics are held, there’s a tendency for it to be left behind to rot. While some governments maintain such places, this Olympic Village felt like a ghost town. The Maracana Stadium looks gloomy after the power has been turned off. Even its water in the pool were left to turn orange. Even the seats on the stadium has been removed while the turf turned brown. It’s sad to say that the Olympic Village is completely far from what was once considered upscale. It leaves anyone with an eerie presence once they see how it looks six months after the Olympics closed its door and dimmed its lights on Rio.
