These Solar-Powered Window Blinds Reduce Your Electricity Bill Up To 70%

This could be the most practical solution for users who can’t install conventional solar panels but still want to save electricity and money.

While Solar panels seem to be gaining popularity in the past few years, only a small percentage of the population use them. It’s understandable: Solar panels are huge, and bulky, and they take up a lot of space that most homes don’t have. They are also pretty expensive and difficult to install. This is why the startup company SolarGaps thought of changing the game. Their newest product, also named SolarGaps, is an energy generating solar panel in the shape of fully operational window blinds!

SolarGaps could be the most practical solution for users who can’t install conventional solar panels but still want to save electricity and money. These smart blinds track the sun’s movement, adjusting the position they’re facing throughout the day to generate as much electricity as it can.

The solar blinds can generate up to 100-150 W of renewable energy per 10 square feet of a window per day. That’s is enough for 30 LED light bulbs or 3 laptop computers. This saves up your electricity and reduces the bills by up to 70%. They’re also energy reducing, as they effectively shade your interior hence reducing air conditioning costs by up to 40%.

Easy Installation

Since they’re built for renters and simple homeowners, they’re engineered to be easily installed. They’re removable, and all you have to do is simply plug it in and let it do its job. Finally, they’re really durable as they are made out of very strong aluminum. This allows the blinds to withstand temperatures ranging from -40 to 80 degrees Celsius. Also, the electricity generated can either be used directly, stored in a battery, or even sold to your electricity company.

Connectivity

The blinds can even integrate with smart devices like Google Home, Echo, Nest Thermostat, and other devices that allow you to control whether the blinds open or close, control your home’s temperature, and even tell you the weather to generate energy more efficiently.

Interested buyers can even choose from a variety of sizes, ranging from extra small to extra large. You can even message them to create a custom size for you! It also comes with a 25 year warranty. It’s very much worth the price of buying it, given all the energy and money you can save and earn.
