Swipe left or swipe right, time will come that users will be exhausted with dating apps like Tinder and the sex it is entangled with. The earthly desires of the modern man and woman will reach a peak until it’s time to repent. And fortunately, there’s also an app that can help with you for that.
The Catholic app was made by a Scottish Archbishop which allows the users to search for the nearest confessional or Holy Mass. The media and netizens have wittingly called it Sindr, with reference to the famous dating app.
According to Vatican Radio, The Catholic app was launched in 2017. Archbishop Leo Cushley spoke with the station in lieu of the announcement at the St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
“The idea was really inspired by the Holy Father himself. He said to be imaginative about what to do for the Holy Year of Mercy,” Cushley aired.
Its primary function is lets users search for the nearest Holy Mass, confessional or diocesanal statistics. Reports say that the app uses technology by software firm Musemantik to direct the faithful from their current location to the nearest Catholic Church.
Cushley is hopeful that everyone is going to the use the app, it being a spiritual and practical experience. This is in time for Pope Francis’ so-called Extraordinary Year of Jubilee.
The Edinburgh archbishop describes it to be a “smart bit of technology” that could impact “how the Catholic Church brings the mercy of God and the joy of the Gospel to our contemporary world.”
