Movies Engineers Must Look Forward To This 2017

2016 wasn’t a good year for almost everything including movies. So as we look forward to a brand new year, what movies are in store for us this 2017?


We can all agree that one of the most entertaining things we can do is just sit back in a movie theater to watch a highly anticipated film. The movie industry has offered us a wide range of stories that can entertain us but we all know that engineers do enjoy movies with high-tech gadgets and fast-paced movements. Engineers also have a habit of checking if the movie they’re watching is technically possible – because that’s what engineers normally do.

While 2016 offered us exciting movies, some disappointed us while some “just okay.” Let’s face it – it just wasn’t a good year for almost everything including movies. So as we look forward to a brand new year, what movies are in store for us this 2017?

Star Wars Episode VIII

So many questions were left unanswered in the seventh film. Now, on its eighth installment of this epic saga, we may finally find the answers to all the mystery surrounding the new characters of the story. We may even get to here Luke Skywalker finally speak. It’s time we get reunited to our favorite robots as well!

Transformers: The Last Knight

Of course Michael Bay isn’t done with this franchise. While you constantly hear how the movie gets a low rating from the critics, you still can’t help but watch it. After all, it’s based from a beloved classic and the special effects in this film is just really entertaining.

We all love cars. We all love Cars, too! So if Pixar and Disney are producing another film about cars that awaken the inner child within us, then count us in!

World War Z 2

While the plot remains to be a mystery, we’re sure there are going to be a lot of heart-pounding moments in this film.

The Fate of the Furious

Just when we thought the franchise will stop at its seventh film, Vin Diesel and his crew are back for more car chasing. This time, Charlize Theron is added into the mix. We can’t wait to see what cars will be crashed and which cars will be flying up in the air in the eighth installment of the franchise.

Ghost In The Shell

While this movie has a controversy of its own, the plot may catch your attention. Scarlett Johansson plays The Major, a human-cyborg hybrid, who leads an elite task force called Section 9. She fights an enemy who focuses on wiping out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be a human born in Mars? Gardner Elliot is the main character born and raised in Mars who develops a friendship with Tulsa, who lives on Earth. Expect heartwarming scenes as the young man travels to Earth to be with Tulsa and finds out the mysteries of his existence.

Justice League

We all know how terrible Batman Vs. Superman was. So how will Justice League measure up to its predecessor in the DC Universe? Hopefully, it’ll be better. See how Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash team up and fight Steppenwolf.

This highly-anticipated film will surely deliver lots of laughs, action and explosions. The first won was such a hit, we can’t wait what the second installment will bring us. Hopefully, it will be better. Also, the soundtrack is going to be a hit too! This movie will get us hooked on a MARVELous feeling!
