The Dubai 3D Printing Strategy is a clear viable vision!

With an aim in forwarding UAE and Dubai as the leading hub of 3D printing technology, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said in an initiative called the ‘Dubai 3D Printing Strategy.

HH Sheikh Mohammed said that the UAE will continue its already advanced 3D printing technology and soar into greater heights in this field of innovation for the mutual benefit of humankind.

“Our vision for development is driven by a deep understanding of the future needs, and built on proactive ideas because we want to be in first place globally. Our methodology for development is based on the launch of initiatives that can be applied anywhere in the world and creating a global model for not only our economy but also for the global economy,” His Highness said.

He followed, “The future does not wait for those who hesitate and slow down. The next stage requires us to act fast and utilize the opportunities. A few days ago, we launched the Dubai Future Agenda and we have started to implement it through a number of initiatives and strategies which add value to humanity and our national economy.”

The main focus of the initiative is to make 3D printing technologies be integrated with the way we live. Ultimately, 25% of buildings in Dubai should be 3D printed by 2030, and even raise the percentage with the development of global technology as well as growth of market demand.

This technology has effects that will have an economic value, by lowering costs, reducing the time and manpower requirements in construction projects. Wastes will also be reduced.

Moreover, two other sectors other than construction will be the center of Dubai’s 3D printing initiative, which are medical products and consumer products
