These Trucks Just Won The Truck of Texas Award

It seems like Ford’s been having a good week as its latest generation of Super Duty trucks was chosen the “Truck of Texas” during the Texas Auto Writers Association. Because of its “innovative use of advance materials, as well as improvements in powertrain and features”, this is the 13th time the company’s F-Series pickups have been proclaimed the winner for the award. Now that is one hell of a record!

Aside from the Truck of Texas award, the Super Duty trucks also won the Heavy Duty Pickup award. The company’s F-series won the Truck Line of Texas award while its 2017 Ford F-150 won the Best Powertrain award for its new 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6.

The latest generation features a new aluminum body – which makes the trucks lighter compared to older models. Other features include a new 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel with 440 horsepower and a 925 lb.ft of torque, which gives a 2017 F-350 a 32 000-pound towing capacity. These trucks also gives one a back-up trailer assist and an adaptive cruise control.

Around 70 journalists were assigned to choose the winners in the contest.
