8 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Marry an Engineer

Wanna Marry an Engineer? Think twiceI’ve posted 10 reasons why you should date an engineer. It makes a pretty convincing case considering that many agreed with what was stated: engineers make the best dates. But some just begged to disagree. As far as stereotyping goes, engineers have alike qualities but not entirely the same for each. For this, some may admire or despise an engineer’s behaviour or personality; but there are just some undesirable traits that will make you not want to be with an engineer. Here are those:

Engineers are heavily attached to gadgets or devices

You do not expect engineers to have our focus on you when we prioritize our toys first before anyone else. It’s a universal thing: every engineer has at least one crazy obsession which is a machine, a tool, or any project that cannot be replaced by human affection. We are already married to them in one way or another.

Engineers are bad cooks

We survived engineering school eating anything instant – noodles, coffee, sardines – for two reasons: one, to save time; and two, to skip the cooking because we do not have such skill.

Engineers have the slightest idea about “how to relationship”

With men being dominant in college, it’s hard to get along with girls and be romantic. We do not have the ample amount of exposure and experience to prove that we are smooth in dates and relationships. What more in a married life? Using “romance” and “engineer” in one sentence is just impossible.

Engineers start the day later than most humans

At 10 AM or 11 AM. An engineer’s body is designed to wake up that time, and never earlier. You can notice that engineers are always groggy in the morning because we have a different time zone.

Engineers accomplish things a day before the deadline

And still get things done. Oh well, that training in engineering school served us well.

Engineers have the tendency to torture children by teaching them algebra as early as 3 years old

Because  we want to share the pain, and we want our sons or daughters to be strong as early as possible. They might just be interested in engineering after that. We have a skill gap in the field, remember?

Engineers are fond of TV series marathons to the point that exhausts a lot of time

We are going to watch our favorite shows over and over again and no one can stop us with that. Especially during holidays, we prefer doing this than go on a fancy dinner which is just expensive. Netflix and chill, y’all!

Engineers are basically post-pubescent kids trapped in an adult’s body

Still interested with an engineer? You have to accept this fact. And we do not deny that because we are proud of who and what we are.
